Manhattan

Making an Aristocrat Sparkling Punch that was created in Sep. 1941 is extremely complicating. Firstly, dissolve a cube sugar in one cup of sparkling water (from a quart) and pour it into a punch bowl. Secondly, add one bottle Burgundy and 4 ounces brandy to the bowl and stir well. Thirdly, place a block of ice in the bowl and pour in 2 bottles Champagne and the rest of the sparkling water. Finally, garnish the top of this liquid with strawberries or raspberries.
